The World Trade Center Montevideo (WTC Montevideo) is a building complex located in Montevideo, Uruguay. It was officially opened in 1998, and renovated between 2002 and 2009.

The official slogan is "Work in the best place to live".

Location

The WTC Montevideo is only 30 minutes away from Carrasco International Airport and 15 minutes away from the Port of Montevideo. It is next to Montevideo Shopping, in Buceo, the area of greatest growth in the city in recent years. Avenues of easy traffic flow which surround the Complex guarantee a quick access to it.

The Complex has thus achieved true decentralization in the city, consolidating the trend set by its neighbor, Montevideo Shopping, over 20 years ago by moving the center of gravity of the city.

Complex

To date, WTC Montevideo Complex is composed of three towers, two three-storey buildings called WTC Plaza and WTC Avenue and a large central square called Towers Square.

The WTC 1, was the first building to be inaugurated, in 1998. It has 22 floors and 17.100 square meters of build. That same year the WTC Avenue and WTC Auditorium were raised. This first one has 2 floors and 5.600 square meters of build, and the second is in the ground floor of WTC 2.

In 2002, the WTC 2 was inaugurated. This building is the twin tower of WTC 1 and so, has the same characteristics of it. Finally, in 2009 the WTC 3, the WTC Plaza and the Square of Towers were inaugurated. The WTC 3, located between the avenues Luis Alberto de Herrera and 26 de Marzo has 19 floors and 27.000 square meters build.

The WTC Plaza has 2 floors and 6.300 square meters build. It is destinated to be a center of gastronomy premises on the ground floor opposite Towers Square and Bonavita St. Burger King, Walrus, Bamboo, Asia de Cuba, Gardenia Mvd, and La Claraboya Cafe are on it.

The Towers Squares, is an area of remarkable aesthetic design. It is meant to be a platform for the development of business activities, art exhibitions, dance and music performances, cultural animation, a meeting spot as well as a tourist attraction. This square connects the different buildings and towers which comprise the WTC Complex and it is the main access to it. It is spacious and sunny with sinuous-lined green areas. Is crowned with works of art, among which a magnificent sculpture made to order by Pablo Atchugarry, a renowned Uruguayan sculptor, stands out.

Currently, WTC Free Zone with 23 floors and 32.500 square meters, and the WTC 4, with 42 floors and 53.500 square meters, are under construction.
